Child and Adolescent

Assessment:
Dr. Stormberg utilizes a variety of clinical interview techniques and clinical instruments to provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for your child or adolescent. Initial assessments always involve the clinical interview of the child, the parent(s), other significant people in the child’s life, including siblings, teachers, and others. Additionally, Dr. Stormberg may utilize such projective techniques as play therapy strategies, and instruments such as the Kinetic Family Drawing. Also utilized are adult self-report instruments such as the Connors Scale, and psychometric instruments such as the Trauma Symptom Checklist for Children and the Parenting Stress Index. Collecting other information from other professionals involved in the child’s life will also be obtained during the initial phase of assessment and treatment. Dr. Stormberg does not offer formal psychological testing.

Treatment Populations:
Dr. Stormberg treats children from about age 8 years to older adolescents. Families come in many forms, including intact biological families, stepfamilies, single-parent families, divorcing families, all presenting with dynamics unique to the particular family make-up.
